What you’ll be pleased to know is that all the treatments recommended by the Fagron TrichoTest are backed by scientific research to improve the treatment of hair loss. Fagron TrichoTest looks at the seven biogenetic categories related to hair loss treatment and can identify whether your genetics are likely to respond to this treatment.

TREATMENTS

There are seven different hair loss treatment categories:

• Prostaglandins (Latanoprost, Minoxidil, Prostaquinon)

• Inflammation (Clobetasol propionate, Ketoconazole, Hydrocortisone acetate, Betamethasone dipropionate)

HOW IT WORKS
We will take a swab from the inside of your mouth to obtain a sample of your DNA.

Before sampling:

• Patients should avoid eating, smoking, alcohol, drinking (water is the exception) or brushing teeth at least 1h before scraping.
• Patients are advised to rinse the mouth with water before scraping.
• Informed consents must be filled and signed by the clinician and the patient.

During sampling:

• Removal of the swab from the swab tube.
• The inside part of one of the cheeks must be scraped energetically with the scraping end of the swab for 1 minute, while rotating the swab.  The scraping end of the swab should only be in contact with the inside of the cheek.
• The swab should be stored back in the tube and closed.

You will also be asked to complete a simple questionnaire to determine a number of lifestyle factors including age, height, weight and any medical conditions you may have.

This will be sent to the lab in Barcelona where specially trained technicians will analyse a total of 48 genetic variations from your DNA sample.

Within 14 days we will receive a report containing the results of your test. This will indicate which elements from your genetic coding and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your hair loss and recommend effective hair loss treatment options for you.

When the analysis is complete, a digital report is generated. The report outlines the gene variations that were analysed alongside any identified mutations. This is then followed by the subsequent recommended hair loss treatment options for these, which allows for a personalised treatment plan to be created by your specialist.
